What do I need to do to care for my jewellery or cufflinks?
Our stainless steel products are easy to maintain, to keep them looking their best simply wipe over with a soft cloth to polish. We recommend removing jewellery before entering swimming pools or jacuzzis and before carrying out activities where jewellery could come into contact with chemicals and perfumes. Please remove all cufflinks and collar stays from shirts prior to laundering and avoid placing in water.
Will my order be gift wrapped?
Absolutely! All products are packaged with care and presented in a way that they are ready for giving. Please leave a comment upon checkout if you require a gift card to be included.
What are the benefits of stainless steel jewellery?
Stainless steel is extremely strong and durable. It doesn’t tarnish, corrode and it won’t discolour your skin. It is a hypo allergenic, making it perfect for those who are sensitive to some metals. Stainless Steel is becoming more and more popular because it has a high quality finish, durability and has a lovely weight and feel.
What is ion plating?
The process used for our Gold and Rose Gold products is called Ion Plating (IP). The center of the product is Stainless Steel and the outside has a layer of titanium oxide, which can be used as a pigment (gold, rose gold) and has the same non allergenic properties as stainless steel. The process turns the titanium oxide into electric ions which becomes a harder and more durable coating with a higher brightness than that produced through traditional plating methods. It is really hard to determine a specific length of wear as it will depend on the condition of use. However, the plating method used is very advanced and is designed not to rub away quickly. If there is high exposure to rubbing there can possibly be some wearing, this could happen when one bracelet or pendant is worn with another or wearing jewellery during heavy duties like cleaning, rubbing against a desk at work, etc. Contact with harsh chemicals like aerogaurds or cleaning products could cause fading or chemical reactions as some chemicals which seem harmless have quite excessive stripping agents in them. Products that have ion plating will never chip and will never turn green. A piece may start to look dull due to body oil, dirt, grime and acidic residue build up over time.
